Treating problem skin in order to get healthy glowing skin can vary for many reasons and can not be made for everyone in one big batch, it needs to be personalized. I have come to find that sometimes my skin can be oily, dry, sensitive or a combination of all three. There is no such thing as having perfect skin, and using these labels to help define a skin type is what the cosmetics and skin care companies want. It’s there way to get you to buy their toxic products. As we know our skin is constantly changing everyday, and we have minimal control over it. It can be dry in the morning and oily in the later part of the day, this type of change is normal; it is how our skin functions. Did you know that when we are at working hard and in the flow our endocrine glands tell the sebum glands to make more oil, and as we get tired, or we run out of energy and need to rest, so do our sebum glands. There are also some other factors that play a major part in making our skin act the way it does. The climate or environment can have an effect on your skin, we have a tendency to overachieve when we choose our skin care products, gender plays a huge role, health problems like allergies, digestive problems, illnesses, and hormonal fluctuations during our monthly cycle can totally effect our skin. If you really have a skin problem it may take a while for it to show, for example if your drinking, smoking, and eating bad it may not show on your skin right now, but in 10 years it will be there tell tale signs your of bad habits. What you see on the surface may not always be what’s really going on with your skin. It’s a whole other world underneath and as we age.
You really need to pay attention to your skin. If it feels oilier than usual do not wash it until it gets dry and irritated, also try using blotting papers during the day and at night use a clay based facial mask to absorb the excess oil and debris from your pores. Then, use a light weight serum instead of a heavy cream based moisturizer. If your skin is feeling too dry wash as usual and try adding a drop or two of a nice facial oil under your normal moisturizer. Lastly if your skin is acting weird it can be that the product your using is causing your skin to react and you need to quit using it. If your having any type of reaction you’ll want to use less of your skin care regime products and may want to try baby care products until your condition improves. Or if it’s serious see a dermatologist or try an esthetician at your local day spa. Your esthetician will be able to help you with a nice skin care regime if you do not already have one or are looking to try something different. Spa skin care products are much nicer and a better quality product than commercial skin care products. Plus you can always make your own skin care products at anytime.
So in a nut shell if your skin is oilier than it normally is have some blotting papers in your purse or make up bag, and use a clay facial mask to help with that problem a couple of times a week, if your skin is dry or sensitive you’ll want to try a hydrating and soothing serum, followed by a light weight moisturizer and a homemade facial oil blend. Natural organic skin care is possible and can save you money, and you’ll know exactly what’s in your skin care product. Till next time OrganicBeautyGirl….
